About SCR Technologies!
Fred Devoir started SCR as a private venture in 1998 hosting a few friends’ websites on a consumer cable internet connection from my home. These same friends and him toyed with the idea of having a public hosting company someday and I never lost that desire.
In 2001 Fred purchased his first server and traded bandwidth for services with a local business. He provided logistics support for their data communications, and hosted their websites.
A longtime friend of Fred's joined my venture in 2002 and we established a DNS service for a company he was working with, we also provided some other data and communications needs for them and hosted their website.
In 2004 Fred moved himself and his business to Chattanooga, TN, in early 2005 SCR purchased our second server and began ramping up our services to provide more complete, higher levels of reliability and more customer manageability to their solution.
In 2005 another friend, Erik, a programmer joined the venture and we began the process of building custom control panels and automated management of our solutions. We also moved our servers, yet again, to Dallas, TX. This move was a strategic move for us; Dallas is a central hub for 90% of the fiber crossing the US. Our servers are now located one network hop from any fiber network our customers need.
As SCR scales our service to meet the needs and growth of our clients we continue to establish new services specifically designed for our clients needs. SCR believes that all our solutions should be simple and easy to use. That the impossible task can be accomplished with a little creativity, and that all of us are bottom line dedicated to providing the most reliable service possible.
